Digital Diploma debuts at MIT

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is have announced that following a pilot progam 111 of their graduates have been given the option to receive their diplomas on their smartphones via an app, in addition to the traditional format.



Using a free, open-source app called Blockcerts Wallet, students can quickly and easily get a verifiable, tamper-proof version of their diploma that they can share with employers, schools, family, and friends.

The digital certificates are protected using blockchain technology and MITs identity provider Touchstone.
